Project Description

September 12-14, 2025: A Different Kind of Safety Training High Performance Training Center Boxberg

September 12: Arrival by 6:00 PM at the Best Western Hotel Bad Mergentheim

September 13: High-Performance Driver Training – a different kind of driver safety training! High-performance cars like the BMW i8 – which is enough to accelerate continental drift and earn the unqualified approval of more than one passenger – need to be driven hard. Clearly, such a sports car belongs only in expert and responsible hands. Even top athletes only improve through individual training and honest feedback. Therefore, they entrust themselves to experienced trainers. Our member Tim Dittes invited all interested parties to the Bosch test track in Boxberg. The test center in Boxberg offers a fascinating Area 51 atmosphere, where normally only multi-million-dollar prototypes from all the major car manufacturers undergo their high-dynamic testing. Here we were able to indulge ourselves to our hearts’ content for an entire day. There aren’t many places in the world where automotive enthusiasts have access to obstacle-free asphalt surfaces 300 meters in diameter. Or a three-kilometer-long high-speed oval with banked curves that give the feeling of aerobatics on the ground. Or challenging handling sections in the style of the Monte Carlo Rally – in short, a driving dynamics paradise with a total area equivalent to about 100 football fields. In the evening, we met for a relaxed and enjoyable end to the day at a restaurant before a final drive the next day through three German states (Bavaria, Hesse, and Baden-Württemberg), including a visit to the tripoint where three states meet.
