Project Description
The BMW i8 Club’s first event took them back to their production site in Leipzig.
It all kicked off on Friday, June 26, 2015, with a VIP tour of the BMW Leipzig plant to see the BMW i8 production facilities. This was followed by a group dinner and overnight stay at the Steigenberger Hotel. On Saturday, the group enjoyed a drive to the Monument to the Battle of the Nations and Mildenstein Castle, before returning to Leipzig. The event concluded with a gala in downtown Leipzig.
Our homecoming event was also featured in the BMW Group Leipzig plant newspaper. Here’s the short article:
Translation: “The BMW i8 already has thousands of fans and customers. Some of them returned to its birthplace on June 26th, celebrating the hybrid sports car’s first homecoming. The event was hosted by the BMW i8 Club, which was founded in 2014 even before the first cars were delivered. The program included a tour of the BMW i production facility and a drive through the Saxon countryside. The BMW i8 customers were impressed by the factory and the sustainable production of their vehicles – an impression they will surely share with many other BMW i8 enthusiasts on their future tours.”
